SUPPORT WORKERS · HIGH-INTENSITY TRAINED · SYDNEY

We're hiring support workers.

Especially workers with high-intensity training — tracheostomy, PEG feeding, complex bowel care, catheters, dysphagia, wounds, subcutaneous injections. If you have that training and nowhere to use it properly, we would like to hear from you.

The work

What the job actually is.

PowerCare holds eleven NDIS registration groups. The work sits inside those groups: personal care and daily living, community nursing, supported independent living, community participation, life skills, household tasks, transport, and group activities.

A high-intensity shift is mostly an ordinary shift. Someone gets up, gets dressed, eats, goes out, goes to bed. The clinical support is part of the day, not the whole day — and it is delivered against that participant's own plan, written by their treating clinicians.

You will be trained on that plan before your first shift — their tube, their bowel program, their emergency response. Not on high-intensity care in general. On this person. And a registered nurse stays behind you: high-intensity supports are delivered either by registered nurses, or by support workers with high-intensity training working under registered-nurse supervision, depending on the participant's clinical needs.

Where a participant has a behaviour support plan, you implement the plan the way their behaviour support practitioner wrote it. PowerCare does not write those plans.

What the NDIS requires

Before anyone works with a participant.

These are legal requirements for anyone working for an NDIS-registered provider, not PowerCare's preferences.

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (clearance required before you can work with participants)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module ("Quality, Safety and You")
  • The right to work in Australia
  • A willingness to be trained against a participant's own plan — not a generic induction
Pay, shifts and roster

We would rather talk you through the pay, the shift types and what the roster actually looks like on a call than post numbers here that vary by role and by participant.

Ask us directly. You will know what the role is, what it pays and what the hours are before you apply — not after.

Applying

How to apply.

There is no application portal. Send us a résumé and tell us what you are trained in — a person reads it.
