What we can prove, and nothing we can't.

Most provider "about" pages are a wall of adjectives. This one is a list of registrations, a description of how the clinical work is actually supervised, and a set of commitments you are entitled to hold us to.

Verifiable

What PowerCare is.

PowerCare (PowerCare Pty Ltd) is a registered NDIS provider delivering supports across Sydney. We hold eleven NDIS registration groups, and we are audited against the NDIS Practice Standards — including Module 1, High Intensity Daily Personal Activities, which is what allows us to deliver tracheostomy management, enteral feeding, complex bowel care, severe dysphagia support, catheter care, complex wound management and subcutaneous injections.

Most providers do not hold Module 1. That is the single fact that explains why so many families are told "we can't take someone with a trach" — and it is the reason this company is worth calling if you have heard that sentence.

We also hold Module 2A, which covers implementing behaviour support plans written by the participant's own practitioner. We do not write those plans, we do not provide therapy or allied health, we do not manage plans, and we do not supply housing. The eleven groups are listed here.

Sushmita Sharma, Founder and Director of PowerCare
In the founder's own words

My journey into the disability sector began with a simple passion — to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Over the past three years I worked as a disability support worker, supporting individuals with diverse needs, including dementia, Parkinson’s disease, schizophrenia, autism, intellectual disabilities and high-support requirements.

Throughout that work I learned that quality care is built on trust, compassion, patience and genuine human connection. Every participant has a unique story, different goals, and the right to receive support that respects their choices and independence.

Those experiences are why I established PowerCare. I wanted an organisation where participants are never treated as numbers, but as individuals who deserve personalised support, dignity and respect.

As Founder and Director, I remain committed to ensuring every service we provide reflects our values of compassion, integrity, respect, empowerment and excellence. Our mission is to help participants live independently, build confidence, strengthen community connections and reach the goals that matter most to them.

For me, PowerCare is more than a disability service provider — it is a commitment to creating positive change in people’s lives. Every act of kindness, every conversation and every achievement, no matter how small, has the power to make a lasting impact.

Audited against

The standards behind the work.

These are not badges. They are the standards an approved quality auditor tests PowerCare against, and the ones a support coordinator can ask us to evidence.

The NDIS Practice Standards — Core

Rights and responsibilities, provider governance, the provision of supports, and the environment those supports are delivered in. Every registered provider is audited against Core. It is the floor, not the ceiling.

Module 1 — High Intensity Daily Personal Activities

The module that governs the seven high-intensity supports — tracheostomy, enteral feeding, complex bowel care, severe dysphagia, catheter care, complex wounds and subcutaneous injections. A provider without Module 1 is not permitted to deliver them.

Module 2A — Implementing Behaviour Support Plans

The module that governs providers whose workers deliver support to a participant with a behaviour support plan — including where that plan authorises a regulated restrictive practice. It covers implementing the plan, not writing it.

Provision of supports

How supports are actually delivered: assessed and planned with the participant, delivered by workers who are competent to deliver them, and reviewed against what is really happening.

Management of medication

How medication is stored, administered and recorded — and who is permitted to do it.

How we work

Four commitments you can hold us to.

  1. We say no when the answer is no.

If a support sits outside the eleven registration groups we hold, we say so on the first call. A referral accepted and then quietly failed is worse than a referral declined.

  2. A registered nurse is behind every high-intensity support.

Delivered either by registered nurses, or by support workers with high-intensity training working under registered-nurse supervision — depending on the participant's clinical needs and circumstances.

  3. The training is our job, not the family's.

Workers are trained against the participant's own plan before their first shift. No family should have to teach a support worker how to care for their own child.

  4. We do not blur what we are.

We implement behaviour support plans; we do not write them. We deliver SIL; we are not a landlord. We are a support provider, not a plan manager, not a therapy service.
